HOW TO MANAGE EVENING SESSIONS WITH LITTLE ONES

April 4, 2022

There’s no better time to catch your family than when the nights are warm and the sun is still high in the sky. That last magical hour of daylight – what us ‘togs call “golden hour” (you can totally see why right?!) – is just the ultimate window for the perfect loved up glow.

But with that setting sun comes a bed time that might be a little later than usual for your little ones. And I totally get that can be a worry.

I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be (I promise!!).

Most of my clients decide to embrace the small disruption of bedtime for dreamy family photos, and with a long nap earlier in the day plus plenty of yummy (mess-free) snacks, we’re smooth sailing!

The best bit? The kids always have a great time. Mum and dad’s undivided attention while you all explore somewhere new – sounds like kid heaven, am I right?!

Of course, if you’re still unsure or would just rather not have a late night, then an outdoor session during the months outside of daylight savings hours is the way to go. This is April through to September, which as you can imagine can sometimes be a little cold or wet (or both!!). I do book fewer sessions during these months to allow for flexibility around the weather and rescheduling, and we often find some beautiful sunny evenings in the mix!

So before you book your next outdoor session with your little fam – have a think about what works best for you and your little people. And if you have any questions, I’m always all ears!

I’m currently booking May to August, so if an earlier night is 100% your vibe, get in touch.
